Five clauses that protect your genuine self-employed status
HMRC judges what actually happens in practice — not what contracts say. The five clauses below are also built into the Netvett product, so the clauses and the platform behave the same way. Every Pro-ID worker accepts these clauses at onboarding.
Clause 01
Substitution clause
You have the right to send a verified substitute Pro-ID professional of equivalent qualification to deliver any shift you have accepted, at your own arrangement. The substitute’s Pro-ID is verified at check-in by the Sentinel liveness scan.
Clause 02
No mutuality clause
Netvett does not guarantee work and you have no obligation to accept any shift offered or available. There are no minimum hours, no quotas, and no penalty for declining shifts.
Clause 03
Multi-engagement clause
You are free to work for other platforms, agencies, the NHS bank, or commissioning organisations simultaneously. Netvett does not require exclusivity and surfaces your multi-client engagements on your Pro-ID dossier as a feature, not a footnote.
Clause 04
Method-of-work clause
Netvett does not direct how care is delivered. Sentinel tools (geo-fenced check-in, audio care logs, kin tracker) are provided for your professional protection and are optional. You exercise your own professional judgment inside every visit.
Clause 05
Equipment clause
You use your own equipment (smartphone, transport, uniform, professional tools) to carry out work. Netvett does not supply or mandate the use of any specific device.
Where these clauses come from
HMRC applies three tests to determine employment status: substitution, control, and mutuality of obligation. The clauses above are designed so every test points to genuine self-employment in practice. Useful external references:
